Linical Lotion is a skin protectant. It contains calamine. Calamine, being an astringent precipitates, proteins locally around the cells of the damaged skin. As a result surface of the cells are toughened, thereby protecting the cells from external irritation like : insect bites, toxins, and allergens. Calamine hardens the walls of blood vessels (capillaries), thereby stopping oozing out of plasma preventing pruritus, erythema, pain and swelling. Additionally, calamine acts as antiperspirant.
